ABOUT US
Since 2001 Madhouse has stood as one of Thunder Bay’s premier pubs. A cornerstone of the Bay & Algoma community full of lively local atmosphere, Madhouse is a meeting place for friends, business associates, families, and travellers alike.
At Madhouse we specialise in fine whiskey and draught beer, with a selection of 14 imported, craft, and local beer on tap. Our draught selection is constantly evolving as we feature old favourites and new brews from our talented local breweries. We are North Western Ontario’s number one whiskey bar with an extensive collection of over 275 bottles of fine whiskey from all over the globe. We’ve paired our beverage selection with a unique and varied menu of entrees and pub grub. The menu is updated seasonally, taking inspiration from global cuisine and classic pub fare.
In the European tradition of neighbourhood pubs, we encourage families to dine with us, making it easier with a great Kids Menu (kid-tested and approved!). We have a large selection of vegetarian dishes and are always happy to modify existing meals to make them vegetarian friendly. Whether you’re dining solo at the bar, enjoying the warm summer weather on our patio, or meeting a group of friends for shared plates, the Madhouse menu has something for everyone.

We are OPEN for dine in (patio season soon)! Our current hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 11:30am-12:00am, Friday-Saturday 11:30am-1:00am. Take out is available when service allows. Please call the restaurant at (807)344-6600 to place your takeout order; we will not accept takeout orders via email or DM. Reservations are available for larger groups from Monday-Thursday – call us to reserve your spot!
